Philips Austria expects post-crisis boom

Philips Austria bosses have announced they expect turnover to reach the pre-crisis levels this year.

Country manager Robert Pfarrwaller said today (Fri) he was optimistic that the firm’s earnings would soar again throughout this year after slumping in 2009.

He said Philips Austria’s turnover decreased from 522 million Euros in 2008 to 426 million Euros the next year, adding that its figures in the first quarter of this year were 10 per cent better than those achieved in the first three months of 2009.

The Austrian department of the Dutch electronic consumer goods manufacturer has around 700 employees.
