STOMP show to come smashing into Vienna
The rhythmical masterpiece STOMP will arrive in Vienna with a bang at the end of January. The show, which has been performed around the world, has enchanted more than 15 million people and will do so in Austria’s capital from 31 January until 12 February.
STOMP the musical has no words, no melody and makes music of no particular genre. What it does do is create rhythm out of everyday seemingly unmusical objects. Brooms, bins and hands are transformed into instruments which combine to create an energetic and noisy spectacular which the New York Times believes is "just as fresh and exuberant as if it had its premiere yesterday."
Since its discovery 20 years ago at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, STOMP has fascinated audiences around the world. Jumping, running and stomping around the stage the musicians provide continual entertainment in their strictly orchestrated and choreographed display, even managing to top the box office in London’s West End for almost 10 seasons.
Having toured in 48 countries and 5 continents STOMP is now to arrive in the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna and is expected to be "fresher, faster, funnier" than ever before.
