Worker slips and lands on face

A 43-year-old council worker suffered serious injuries as he slipped at a riverbed in Dornbirn yesterday (Tues).

Officials in the Vorarlberg town said today the man lost balance and fell on his face as he was engaged in clearing a creek from rubbish.

The Schoppernau resident was helicoptered to a local clinic. Doctors said he sustained facial and chest injuries, but added he was expected to make a full recovery.
