Church puts confessional on eBay

A cash-strapped parish church has decided to flog its confessional box on eBay.

Hirschstetten parish priest Otto Weber said the auction will start at 8pm tonight (Mon).

He explained the church in Vienna-Donaustadt was in need of money to carry out an essential renovation.

"I don’t insist the future owner use it at a church. Maybe a publican plans to make this the special attraction of his bar. I also see the possibility of it being used as a one-man sauna," the priest said.
