Esterhazy wine headed for Taiwan
The Esterhazy Vineyard in Trausdorf, Austria is benefiting from the increasing popularity of European wine in Asia. The wine, which is produced in the region of Burgenland, is now being delivered to Taiwan.
The Burgenland wine is intended to be sold in restaurants and hotels around Taiwan with a series of new Austrian wines, in different price brackets, being introduced to the country in December.
The largest city on the island, Taipei City, has a particular interest in the wine and will be the main focus of the winery’s deliveries. Esterhazy also plans to target the growing middle class who place great importance on the combination of food and wine.
Wine distribution in Asia has dramatically increased in the last ten years and appears to only be increasing in popularity. Taiwan is now the fourth largest market for wine in Asia. For this very reason Esterhazy has decided to launch on the island.
The vineyard has also completed contracts with Singapore and Thailand with Esterhazy wine already being drunk in Japan, South Korea and China.
